Inspired by a very special turkey, named Ruthie. Like many of my pieces, the original meaning might be an ode, or memorial of sorts, but months later I always find these pieces a reminder of one thing I truly feel and believe-love is a verb, love wins, love never dies, love is an energy and energy never-the conversations we have with the departed only change in the language the departed speaks to us.

Ruthie was a very special turkey who came to live at Apifera Farm. She was very close to Mrs. Dunn and followers all over the country fell in love with her. She met an untimely death which shattered everyone, especially Mrs. Dunn. But she went out like a warrior and we find her messages in white feathers. It is now the way we communicate. She is deeply missed and this painting was and is an ode to her friendship and strength.
